Objatie is a little game for two. Each of you quietly sets what you really want from a relationship — and then you reveal it together, card by card. At the end you see where you click and where your ideas differ a little. No right or wrong answers. Just an honest conversation that's sometimes hard to start.
For couples who've been together for years, and for two people who are just getting to know each other — whether on a date or through an app. You don't have to be a “serious relationship”. If you're curious how closely your relationship ideas meet, it's exactly for you. It's more about curiosity and openness than judgement.
What is a card vs a comparison?
A card is a link to your expectations you can send to many people (e.g. when dating) — one card, many people. A comparison is one-on-one with a specific person: once you both fill in, you see how you match.
Do we have to be a couple?
No. Even on a third date is fine. It's a great way to talk openly about things that are otherwise harder to bring up.
Does the other person see my answers right away?
No. Everything stays hidden until you choose to reveal it in the game. You see the other person's value only once you reveal yours.
How long does it take?
A few minutes to fill in, the rest is the fun of revealing — as much time as you give it.
Is it some kind of test or diagnosis?
No. Objatie is not a psychological test or professional advice. It's a game that helps start a conversation. Nothing more, nothing less.

Objatie and its questions were inspired by the idea of relationship anarchy — that relationships have no single right script or preset hierarchy, and that each relationship is defined by the two people in it, by what they actually want. More in this essay on aeon.co.
